Birthday Trip to Sapelo

First, we had cake. Jessica's was a monkey face ~

Megan's was sea turtle hatchlings making their way to the sea ~
After the football game Friday night, Christine Melton, Amber Hart and Kaitlyn Baxter came home with the girls to spend the night. It was nearly 11 PM when they all arrived, and I have NO idea what time they actually bedded down (I got up at 2:30 to, you know & could still hear them). They pulled the mattress off Jessica's bed and into the living room in the center of our sectional couch, and bedded down. They watched movies and the poor boy's ears must have burnt clean off before dawn. LOL!

We were up and moving early, hitting the Queen Anne to Sapelo at 9 AM. Don't they look spry? LOL!

'Course my girls don't think a photo op at the mansion is complete without one in the pool. Notice the stolen sugar cookies in their hands... THIEVES! Those are for mansion guests!

They had some fun on the air field across from Da's house, catching butterflies, and being silly girls ~

Before heading to the lighthouse to show off the views. Yes, they are at the top, and on the outside. No, their daddy had no idea they were doing this.

Then it was off to the beach for "sand angels"
'Cause you're never too old to play in the sand ~

The girls enjoyed a gorgeous sunset over Post Office Creek behind Da's house before also enjoying some Sapelo shrimp for supper (Thanks, Uncle Michael). We had carried burgers, but Da didn't think those girls could come to his island, and not have shrimp.
Sunday morning was for girly things. They spent most of the morning upstairs chilling and "making up". LOL!
Not sure if he was smiling because he had a great weekend (WE DID), or if he was smiling 'cause he was glad all those girls were headed back to the mainland... LOL! Love you, Da and Grandma! Thanks for a wonderful 18th birthday weekend!
