Home Alone, Mobley Style

Haven't been as diligent with the posting as I once was. Sorry, will try to do better. Always the drama around here, just not always the time to document it. Will give a little health update from my doctor's visit from last week. The tumor and prolactinoma seen to be in check with the continued twice weekly meds. However, the hypothyroidism is just nuts. He can't seem to get it regulated, and it has my vitamin D out of wack. A few months back my D was so low, he put me on an an 8 week therapy of 50, 000 units of D2, once a week. Now the typical dosage of D is 100-400 units per day, which calculates to 700-2800 per week. Well, after this first round, bloodwork, D level is lower than when we started. And your body is supposed to make it from sunlight, and I've been doing my darndest to get the most I can, but it's just not working. So, round 2 is a 10,000 units daily for a 10 week course of vitamin D3, then back in December to see if that's working. On top of that, apparently, vitamin D also affects your absorbsion of vitamin C, and together they are responsible for your bone health, so now of concern is my bone density. So, next week I'm scheduled for a bone density test, just to check things out, and give us a base line. Whew!

On other fronts, Wayne and the girls have left me and Pepe' home tonight to our own wilds. They've headed on down to the coast to get a full day of shrimping in tomorrow, then we'll pass the girls on their way back for the football game tomorrow night. They're staying home to attend a friend's birthday party on Saturday, then will re-join their daddy and me at the coast Saturday night for another day of shrimping on Sunday. Wayne and I are going to make a run to Sapelo on Saturday to see daddy. Lord, I miss him, and worry about him so...

But, back to tonight. I've facebooked. I've read the Sentinel. I've caught up on all my blogs. Now, off to a bubble bath and book. Oh, sweet "ME" time!

Oh, yeah. Forgot to mention. Pepe' and I waited until the crowd had left us, then headed to the Rusty Pig for brunswick stew, french fries and BBQ sauce. Yum!
