Ms Speed's Crab Stew

Clint acquired this recipe from an older neighbor at Shellman who used to work at Speed's "back in the day", LOL. Thanks for sharing, 'cause it's easy, and more importantly... tastes EXACTLY like the stew at Speed's. 'Course, as I've recently been told... not everyone likes Ms Speed's stew (it's too crabby, or too thick, etc.). But, if you do... give it a try!

1 can cream of celery soup
1 can cream of onion soup
1 can cream of potato soup
1 stick butter
1 can water \
5 tblsp flour / mix together separately for thickening
1 lb crab meat
dash Tabasco
half & half \
salt to your taste
creole seasoning /

Mush potato soup. Add celery & onion soup, flour/water mix, half & half, butter & crab, Tabasco, creole & salt. Bring to a boil. Serve with dash of paprika on top.

  1. Thanks for sharing...I love me some crab stew. I don't remember if I ever had it from Speeds but I want to try it. We should have a receipe day in which everyone shares one favorite recipe!
