Got a story on Mattie Matt

As you all know (if you read Melissa blog), Mattie Matt spent the week on Sapelo with Dada & Grandma Sybil last week. Well, at some point fairly early in the week, they took off into Brunswick to eat at one of Da's favorite spots, Steak-N-Shake. They were just getting settled, and the waitress, in a hurry, proceeded to put Matthew's fork on the table upside down. Well, this bothered no one but Grandma. Mattie & Da were deep in conversation, and Grandma, standing it no longer, said, "Matthew... Matthew... MATTHEW. Turn your folk right side up."

Mattie & Da just exchanged "the look". Da then told Grandma that was strike one, and when she got 3 strikes, they were getting their own table.

A short time later, for whatever reason, Da announced, "strike 2". Mattie was getting into this by now, as you could only imagine, and Grandma didn't disappoint. Not long after their plates arrived, Grandma stuck again, and this time Matthew just held up 3 fingers, and he and Da proceeded to pick up their plates and glasses & moved to another table, leaving Grandma sitting alone, dumbfounded. Matthew could hardly contain his laughter.

Well, the waitress, doing what all good ones do, came by to check on them, and having found Grandma alone, and Matthew and Da at their own table, just exchanged looks from one table to the other. Then, about to pee his pants by now, Matthew announced, "She has gas!"

The waitress just nodded and moved on... Grandma was trying to maintain a ticked off look, but finally succumbed to the hilarity of the situation, too.
