So glad summers here!

We had such a great weekend! Decided Thursday night to make a trip to Da's. Called up the Howard's, & after some persuasion, they joined in. I managed to get home @ 4:15, Wayne & the girls had everything loaded & Stacy & Dalton were waiting in the drive, so we pulled out, getting to the lift in plenty of time to get the boats in the water & head out to Sapelo. What a great ride! The weather was questionable the whole way, and we could see rain in Darien, but we had a dry, smooth trip. When Monica got off, she parked at Meridian, so Stacy and Wayne went about 7:30 to pick her up. The weather was looking terrible and we watched what looked like the perfect storm building around us. But, they made it there and back dry and smiling. We ventured up to the long tabby shop to check out what Da had gotten done on the Whaler, and true to Sapelo form, the lights went out. Stacy and Wayne rode back to the other side with the island manager, Fred, to pick up the GA Power crew, and about 2 hours later, we had lights once more. They really have that process down to a science. Once upon a time, we'd have been out all night & possible part of the next day... been there, done that! What an adventure ~

Got up Saturday morning & got the bait drowning. With all the fresh water from the rain, the fishing was slow going, but Wayne certainly managed to pull it off. The rest of us could only stand in awe at his skill ~ Ha ha! If he hadn't stolen Chicks drum, this story would have a very different ending...

Stacy & Monica came back Saturday afternoon, but left Dalton with us. We had some wonderful baked fish and steak for supper, then went up to the pavilion at Nannygoat beach to watch the space station fly over. How cool! I can just imagine those astronauts up there doing there thing. I'd still rather be where I was, that's for sure!

Today was cleaning & chilling. With the weather, the house was a mess, so the girls & I got to cleaning & straightening before Syb got on the ferry. A short trip to the beach for some shelling & Yeah-Yeah and Cricket to swim, and we headed back to Da's to pack up.

We had such a wonderful ride home, no one wanted to leave, but another week looms, and back to it we must go. The girls have softball practice every day this week & are working 3 nights, so it'll be busy. Maybe we can get another coast weekend next weekend... We'll see.
