Memorial Day Weekend

I had a doctor's appointment in Savannah on Wednesday, so off I went. by myself. Ran some errands. Found some much needed new sandles. Hit the Kroger on the way home. It should be against the law to let a hungry fat woman in a REAL grocery store. Geez! But, we shouldn't need food/snacks at the coast for a few weekends. So, when the girls got home from babysitting, the three of us took off to Gould's. Poor Wayne had to work ALLweek, and Thursday was my flex day because Friday was yet another furlough day. We picked Jeremy in Ludowici, and we were off!

Thursday, we put the little boat in and hit St Catherine's. Alone. Not another boat in site. Which makes one wonder, after a while, if you have heat stroke, or something when you see a large floating object headed your way ~ Blimp #1 ~

It only held us up a little while while we decided if we'd had too much sun... the general consensus was, NO!

Friday, Jessica and I left Megan and Jeremy to fish and bird watch, and we headed into Brunswick. I love Brunswick! I guess it's just got a more laid-back coastal vibe over Savannah, but I'll go to Brunswick hands down over Savanah any day. We hit the Old Navy for their swimsuit sale, got much needed pedi's. I swear, I don't know what that Vietnamese woman was saying, but I KNOW she was talking about my ratty heals! Bless her heart, she earned her money on me ~

Saturday, Jeremy had left us, but it didn't detur. The four of us headed back to St Catherine's for some more rays ~ can never have enough.

Sunday, we headed for Sapelo for some Da time. He had a house full as usual, but we got some good quality time anyway, until he had to go rescue Sybil, Tammy and Tona in Hog Hammock in a broke-down van.  There are tenative plans in place for Michael and Da to come over to Gouldn's this next weekend by boat so we can then lead them around the corner to Pandy's at Belvedere. Sure hope that works out. Michecl hasn't seen the finished condo ~

When we got back to Gould's, we got a text from Jacob saying they were down, and were coming to go to the beach with us on Monday, Memorial Day. We hopped up and got the little boat out and the big boat in and gassed and ready for action. Meanwhile, yep, blimp #2!
I said, "Lord! How many blimps could there possibly be in the the state of Georgia?". Jessica allowed, "Well, Mama, at least 2." Smart butt! But, who'd have thought it? LOL!

Monday, being Matt's birthday and all (happy birthday, by the way, Matt) was another GORGEOUS day. We headed out to St Catherine's again, where we  met up with the Baxter's and Harris' for a wonderful day in the sun. Whew! Now, a 4-day week, and I'm headed back to Gould's for another wonderful weekend. Well, we gotta work a little, but we'll still be at the coast ~ Always good!
