College Bound

Lots going on, will try to catch up in a glimpse... Had a minor problem with Pepe on Friday. The manufacturer of his porcine insulin has shut down, meaning if we couldn't get it from another vet, he'd have to switch to human insulin. Any such change is dangerous, as his body isn't used to it, and he can have a seizure, or go into a coma, or any number of reactions. Well. I called a local vet to see if he had any he'd be willing to sell me if our vet faxed him a script. Nothing doing. Said I'd have to have all his records faxed to him, giving him time to review them. Then we'd have to schedule and come in for a full, new patient appointment with work-up (roughly $200+), then he'd prescribe what he needed. So ~ we hit Central Pharmacy, who thought it a hoot to have a dog script, and he's now on human insulin. He's made it since Monday, and acts like he doesn't feel well, but that could be he's just tired from the weekend. And we'll take him in a couple of weeks for a blood sugar test to see where the human insulin has him. Lord, me and that dog!

Hit Mema's coast house with the girls and both boys for the holiday weekend. Planned on working Sat, then playing Sun, but the Howard's came down Sat, so we dogged it off, put the boat in and spent the day at Blackbeard. NICE ~ Met up with the Chancey/Banks clan, etc. at the Buccanneer Sat night for Tyler's birthday celebration. It had been a while, and it was GOOD!

Sun found us working... Wayne got the toilet drain installed, hot water heater in and wired, and the washer and dryer in place. Still a long way to go, but we're getting there. Wayne had to work on Mon, so we headed on back early. Tues found us at East GA College in Swainsboro for freshman orientation. Let me just say, "O - M - G!" I was so physically and mentally exhausted I wanted to cry, and I'm not the one starting school! The girls new laptops came in Wed, so there was installation and playing, but we don't have what we need for internet hook-up, but that should be here Fri. Today was their first day of class. American Government. They said they liked the professor, so far, and we optomistic. Class didn't start until 2, but they were in Statesboro by 10:30. LOL! Like their mama, they don't like to not know where they're going and how to do/be. So, they had a dry run, then had lunch at Sonic and a walk through Hobby-Lobby to relax.

Tomorrow is yet another furlough day for me. Wayne is taking his deferred holiday, and hopefully there will be a septic system in place at Gould's before sunset. We'll say a prayer, as this is a HUGE step in the right direction.

Lots, lots, lots going on around here. I'm sure I'll meet myself in the road at some point, and I have no idea which end is up ~ Ya'll say a prayer for the Mobley household as we adjust to this new life. Love to all, and come see us if you can catch up with us ~
