Yesterday was wonderful. Tonya and Mema (Aunt Net) picked me and the girls up about 7 am (Mema told Ta we were leaving at 6:30, thus we actually departed when we wanted to. LOL!) and we peeled out for Brunswick, the end of the trail, to work our way backwards. Peaches to the Beaches is an annual yard sale the 2nd weekend in March that begins in the Fort Valley (Peach County) area, and follows GA Hwy 341 south to Glynn County (the Beaches). Each town along the way has a community sale place, but all along the way, there are individuals that have them set up at their homes. It's a junk hunters haven. This year we decided to make it a Maund girl outing. Emily couldn't get off work, but the rest of us decided that it would be wisest to begin in Brunswick/Jekyll/St Simons area, thinking the more affluent folks stuff would get gone early. Well, it was kinda a let down as far as junk hunting, but we saw lots of stuff and some wonderful antiques, and had a glorious girls day out. The St Simons portion was actually the vendors in the Village giving P2B discounts, so we really enjoyed the shops down there. Then we headed back through Gardi and Jesup before calling it quits and having supper at the Overpass before heading back to G'ville. All total, I think the 5 of us spent maybe $50 all day plus supper. So, not many purchases, but what a wonderful day! I think we've planned out next girls outing in the Savannah Historic District (preferably, Ta says, before it gets too hot). Can't wait!
