The girls had to make their final trip to South Effingham High School yesterday for All-State Honor Band try-outs, (hopefully they both did well and will make the cut) so we decided to meet up with the Howards and go ice skating at the Civic Center. Me, Chick and the kids have done this several years, and they really enjoy it. I, however, do not skate anymore, and Wayne, who has never tried, didn't see it in his future either, nor did Stacy... But, we had a large time watching Monica and the kids go around and around. To live in South Georgia, they are surprisingly good at it, too.
When our ice skating session was over, we thought we were gonna try the Crystal Beer Parlor, since it's re-opened, but it was a 45 minute wait... so, we hit Spanky's on River Street, which is ALWAYS good, and headed home. What a wonderful day! And, as we speak, Jessica is trying to talk Paul into taking her back ice skating. Somehow, I don't think that's gonna work ~ boy don't get out much. LOL!
This brought back so many memories! :) I CANNOT NOT ice skate. LOL Glad ya'll had a good time. Spanky's sounds extra yummy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your sweet comment on my post. I had to change the title to Jesus loves the little children. We rode by your house the other night and Parker HOLLERED, "LOOK at those lights". He about made me wreck. Both boys love them. Have a great week!
Glad ya'll had a great time ice-skating. The boys are begging us to take them, so hopefully over the break we will go. I will have to be the official photographer for the occasion since I broke my tail bone the last time I skated. Warren loves it, so he can be their coach! :~)
