Think first. Act second.

At DFCS, we generally are the first to hear when tragedy strikes a child in our area. Yesterday was one of those, only we leared of it from Facebook. Some... person, thinking they were going to be the first to shock and awe the crowd, posted on Facebook about the loss of a child. The only thing was, she posted the wrong parents name! Can you imagine? Sitting on your computer, pulling up Facebook and seeing that? Anyway, very shortly after the truth came to light and she removed the post.

Then I hear later that another... person was blurting out the tragedy at the elementary school near children, not even thinking they may know the poor child/family, or even be related. As a parent, if my child had discovered the loss of a relative or friend in this way at such a young age with me not there to counsel... I'd be ticked!

People. Please! Think before you act! Before you open your mouthes/fingers to share tragedys. First, would you want to find out this way? Second, should you be the one telling the world? Always, always, make your first action the closing of your eyes and lifting of prayer. That will do the world more good.

PS ~ Congratulations Charity and Shelley on the birth of your boys yesterday! Seems it was the day for boys! Love ya'll!
