Super Sunday

Got started a little slow, but ran to Hinesville for lunch at Wendy's, then a Wal-Mart hit. Don't get to WM much anymore, so we generally go CRAZY when we get to... check-out wasn't pretty. Then we mosied on down to Belvedere to check out Holly's sister, Melanie's new house. WOW! I've looked at it before and should have gotten a picture to share, but it is one of my favorites on the Bluff there. I'm SO happy for them, and can't wait to go back after they settle a little and get a tour!

Then we wandered on down to Gould's Landing to make sure our little piece of Heaven was still okay. Wayne and I need to get back down there and cut the grass one more time this year, but boy... it's still beautiful! Can't wait until we get to build and move! Wayne even mentioned a little camping expedition maybe. Boy, won't the neighbors wonder...

On the way out, we swung in the Wildlife Refuge and did the drive-around. Jessica spotted a tree that reminded her of a movie we'd watched one-time where ghosts of children were trapped in this fireplace and you could see their little faces in all the carvings and such... SPOOKY! But, a good movie (wish I could remember the name of it). Anyway, check it out ~

Then we came across the old homeplace. All that's left now if the chimney. I thought it made a pretty pic ~

All this just plain wore Jessica out. She was ready to get home... Sure did enjoy wasting a day away with my family. Thank you, God, for such a wonderful family!

  1. Hey! Have you given Melissa back the Dorothy costume? I wanted to borrow it to see if it will work for a Halloween party we have coming up!

  4. Hey Jane! Here is the recipe. :)

    Ingredients:
    4 tablespoons butter
    1 (10 ounce) bag marshmallows
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon Vanilla
6 cups Crispy Rice Cereal (preferred brand: Kellogg’s Rice Krispies)
1 cup rough chopped candy corns

    Directions
Spray a 13x9 glass baking dish and rubber spatula with non stick spray.
In a medium sized sauce pan over low heat, add butter to melt. Once melted add marshmallows, salt, and vanilla. Stir continuously until the marshmallows have reached a smooth consistency. Remove from heat and fold in the cereal and candy corns until completely coated.
Add the mixture to the greased baking dish and smooth out evenly. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
