Great weekend. My honey took me to the Rusty Pig for supper Friday night. Wonderful, as always! And always nice to have a date night. Saturday morning found me and Pepe' back to see Dr. Steve, who was proud of "The Man". He's lost nearly 2 pounds, and his blood sugar rang in at a highly respectable 118. Yeah Pepe'! Corey picked Megan up mid-afternoon, and they went to see Zombieland, which Megan reports was "stupid". Corey said it was funny. I think I'm go with Megan on that one...
The Howard's came over for some low-country boil. It was SO yummy! And haven't been with them in what seems like months. I guess our paths which ran parallel for so long, have broken off and are heading in different directions, with the kids activities and all. Really miss them, and REALLY enjoyed our evening.
Jessica ate with us, then cut out to go to the Long County fire department's haunted house. She had a blast! If ya'll haven't been, and are get the chance, take it! $5 and and hour and a half of entertainment? Where can you beat that? There's the haunted station, 2 haunted houses, a haunted forest and a hay ride, and Jessica was SO excited about it, she's going back this weekend with a car load of friends. Great fun!
Yesterday was kind of a slow day, thankfully. The girls washed our cars, Wayne took my kitchen light apart to diagnose it's problem, and I ended up cooking supper by lamp light and loading the dishwasher by microwave light. Well, we do what we have to do ~ I experimented a little and cooked parmesean chicken breasts with sauteed mushrooms, marinara and mozzarella cheese. YUMMY! And, you know, I've been trying to master Grandma's biscuits, but they just aren't quite right. Well, while I was juggling the breading trays, frying pan and table lamp, Jessica jumped in and made the most wonderful biscuits. So, now she's officially the buicuit queen. LOL!
Supply Co, of course, didn't have the needed balast to fix my kitchen light, so I'm still with lamp light on the kitchen counter until, probably Thursday when Wayne gets home from fishing at the coast. Oh, calm down girls ~ if you can't see, you can't cook, right? And with no husband home, the girls are on fend-for-yourself time anyway. LOL!
He just called and said Stacy, Dalton and Jim-Bob (who've been fishing all day) caught 20+ keeper trout/whiting. After Wayne and Stacy saw Jim-Bob and Dalton off home, they decided to go back out, and caught 11 more keeper trout in 45 minutes! Sounds like one of those fishing trips that we always hear about, but never happens to us. You know the story, "Yesterday, they were biting like crazy! Filled the cooler." But, never on the days we can go fishing... They're supposed to be home Thursday morning, so hopefully more good luck the next few days.
Well, the girls have gone to see the Power Team, and me and Pepe' are chillaxin ~ Catch ya later!
Oh, and happy birthday, Aunt Ernestine! Love ya!
