Hump Day

Well, folks. We're half-way through the first week of our Senior year, and both girls are exhausted and wounded. I don't know where we'll go from here. This new softball coach has them practicing every day, and the practices are brutal. Monday, after school, they just hung around from 3 to 5, because she won't let them practice with JV, then had practice from 5 to 8. Jessica took several shots to the shin, and came home with what we weren't sure was a splintered shin. We iced, Tylenoled and propped, and she moved on, however sore. Yesterday, they had band practice from 3 to 5, then softball practice from 5 to 8. The scissor lift was on the field, and Megan being ever helpful, was helping push it off, when it scissored on her right hand. Thought she'd broken her bird finder, at least. And the pinky also got a pinch and blood blister. So, we medicated and this morning the swelling is down and we think it'll be okay. Just sore. I hate to ask what today's practice will bring... I hated to tell them not to come home before practice. It is a 20 mile round trip, twice a day, after all. But, they are just so exhausted. So, today they'll come home for an hour, then go back for practice. AND NO INJURIES TODAY, PLEASE!
