Good grief! Thought we were gonna sail through the Senior softball season and move on. Well, I'm beginning to believe that's a dream. Lord, what drama! It's worse than the cheer leading squad! LOL. In addition to the new coach and her new rules and idiosyncrasies, we've had one girl in particular who has done her best to start a fight with just about everyone on the team at one point or another. Then we've had the long-time ball players, who have just quit and walked away, and the parental wars over who is controlling who. Now, it seems, we've had a little truancy issue.
Seems that last Thursday on the way home from an away game in Lyons, some girls decided it would be fun to pull up their shirts/bras and down their pants and flash themselves out the bus windows. Now, and I can say this laughing 'cause mine were not involved, thank God, "butt", what were they thinking? There was a car load of TCHS boys behind them, apparently egging them on and shining flashlights to highlight the offenders. I've also heard a rumor that their was a law enforcement car somewhere along the way that also was treated to the sight.
Now, this is not new. Another parent's statement was "it's a rite of passage". However, it seems that some parents were greatly offended and upset. Take this as it is, 2nd and 3rd hand information, as gossip is the name of the game, but seems these parents, instead of taking it up with the coach and offending parties, went higher up the chain. Now, I'm not sure if that means just at the school, the school board, or if, as I've heard, law enforcement was involved. Nonetheless, the offenders were suspended from school for 2 days, and can't come to practice or games, and I've no idea of the consequences upon their actual return to the team, or if they'll be allowed to return to the team after a suspension. Now, we're talking a senior, a junior and 3 freshmen. We've heard the senior has quit the team entirely, so I guess we'll see next week when they return to school and the chips fall where they may.
Well, at least my girls are getting some play time, but you could cut the tension with a knife in the locker room they say. Some of the more aggressive girls bullying and such trying to find out who told and whose parents are causing the ruckus, etc. Not good. Not good at all.... Kids can be so cruel ~

That is terrible! And to think I was stressing about M not bringing his homework home... Guess we'll be counting the year down together. Glad we have the good girls on our side!
