*LOL* Yeah, Susan, that's really my car... We've had it about 4 months now, and are loving it! You see, what happened was ~ Well, what I tell people what happened was I had 2 dr's appointments and Wayne had 1, all in Savannah. So, just the 2 of us were spending the day. My mistake was allowing too much time between appointment 1, and appointment 2, which allowed WAY too much time on a car lot. So, I went to Savannah in a huge Yukon, and came home in a tiny Vette. Shocked everyone, needless to say.
Now, that's all true. But, the story goes deeper than that. Several have mentioned mid-life crisis, and I'm not totally discounting that, too, all the while hoping Wayne and I are not nearly at mid-life. Wayne was 40 in February & I'll be this March coming, so reality is, yeah, I guess we are. But, the other reality is that we've both faced a LOT of loss in our lives. Not only with my mom years ago, but more recently both grandmothers. But, in the last 2 years, Wayne has lost his dad, then a few months later his mom (which he found at home), then he came up on his nephew's wreck and had to go tell his invalid sister that he'd passed, and then only a few months later, lost that sister, and then one of his favorite uncles. Kinda gives one a reality check, in that no one knows how long we have here on Earth to enjoy, not only each other, but life in general, and we should all take that to heart, spend more time with friends and family, never lose touch with the ones you love, and don't deny yourself the pleasures that life affords you.
So... we bought the girls a car in August, they started driving in September. We still have Wayne's 4-door truck, so there is no real need for the Yukon anymore. We figured, why the heck not? And now, I'm a Vette Chick!

Jane...love the car! I want a ride.
