Nice, easy weekend ~

We had a nice, easy weekend. And enjoyed every minute of it. Turns out the girls didn't have to work Friday night after all, so we all loaded up and went to Tippins Lake (Alabama) and had supper with the Howards. Stacy fixed us some of his famous beer brats that he's been bragging about. They were "aight". Ha ha! Naw, they were good, and we each had one. Monica fixed some great burgers, but the homemade orange-pineapple sherbet put it all to shame. We had to head out early to get the girls in bed to be ready for the SAT on Saturday morning.

I'd been telling them, but they just keep saying, "No worries. It'll be easy". Well, when they came in at lunch, all Megan would say was, "I don't want to talk about it". I'm sure they'll have to re-test Lord knows how many times to get the highest score possible. My friend, Vatonia, brought us a SAT study guide, CD with practice tests and flash cards, so maybe, just maybe they'll put a little effort into the next take. We'll see.

Today was just a lazy Sunday. Wayne left early to go to the coast with Matt to run his boat to make sure it was fixed before the Lodge beach trip in July. They didn't make it out past Sapelo Woods and had to pull it back out. Papa's taking it to The Boat Place in the am, so maybe he'll be ready in time. It'll be here before we know it.

I put on Wayne's roast that he loves to much, which takes ALL day to cook in my cast iron "Piney Pig" pot, so we had supper on the fix. I'll try to remember another time to tell the story of the "Piney Pig" pot. The girls got out and worked on the sago. Boy, does it look great! They pulled probably 20 babies of various sizes off and have them in pots, cups and buckets waiting to be distributed. We're taking some to Gould's Landing to plant, Monica wants some for her bluff, and Michael said he wanted some. So, we shouldn't have them long...

When they got through, and we had McD lunch, their friend, Amber called and asked if they wanted to ride 4-wheelers. So, off they went. Amber lives on the perimeter road we usually ride, so they knew where they were going and had a great time. Got a little wet on the way out there, but Amber's mom popped their shirts in the dryer and they were good to go again. They rode with Amber and her boyfriend, Dylan, and also met up with Tyler Chancey. Dylan wouldn't do the mud bogging thing, so the girls had to show them how it was done. Amber even rode through one time with them. Sounded like they had a great time. Me and Pepe'... well, we just chilled, napped & farmed on facebook. Darn it, Rebecca~
