Just got in from Vidalia from the Cruise-In for Kennedy Joiner, which was a resounding success. Over $5000 was raised to help fund her bladder surgery/replacement. Early in the day, before it got so hot, she was walking around and greeting folks and selling the rubber bracelet things to help out. You can tell she's been sick her whole life. She's 11, and no taller and actually smaller sized than our 8 year old Shelby. She was a really sweet girl, and I hope the best for her. It makes you feel good to go out and participate in something to help someone out.

We started our day meeting DBB at 301 Drive-In for breakfast. What a great, and LARGE pancake! Then we slowly made our way over to Vidalia, where we met up with the Howards and Ricky Dukes. Wayne drove his truck, of course. I drove my car. Stacy drove his Harley, while Monica pulled his other motorcycle over on the trailer in the hopes someone would see it for sale & jump on it. Had a couple of bites, so maybe that will work out for him. Dukes drove his Silverado, and Belinda came later in the day. It was HOT, I tell you! But, such a wonderful turn-out. And bless God for Diane's tent, we didn't completely roast. Gotta get us one of those things before the next show. Had some really neat cars and trucks and hot rods. And Wayne, especially, enjoyed networking and talking with all the other enthusiasts. Something I think we'll definitely be doing a lot more of.

Well, Megan's gone to Corey's for his Daddy's birthday party and we're on down time. Guess I'll go see if I can wash and fold some clothes. Later ~

  1. Jane, It looked like you guys had fun. Was that really your corvette? If so, I wanna a ride! I've always wanted one. Maybe that can be my mid-life crisis, a corvete? Not...everyone knows I'm too cheap!
