We made the Onion Parade!

Well, it was 19 months in the making, and they all worked late into the night all week, not getting finished until 2;30 AM yesterday morning, then Wayne & Holly J were back out there at 6:30 AM to detail it, but it made it into the Onion Parade. You can't imagine the relief! And it was well worth it all! I'll post a photo diary in a few so all can see... they still have a few minor details to work out, but Wayne couldn't be happier! We've been told that the WTOC crew had good things to say about it also, but haven't actually seen the broadcast ourselves. Baxter & Tonya both taped it, so maybe later this afternoon.

I was supposed to be driving a beauty queen on my car, as her mother was desperate & asked me a week or so ago & I'd agreed. Spent an hour & a half detailing it Friday afternoon, covering it w/blankets to keep the cat prints off until the parade on Sat. Well, at 10 PM Friday night, Miss Thing called to say her daughter's teacher asked to ride her on her car & they wouldn't be needing me. At the time, I didn't realize what time it was, and was, I guess, so shocked at her rudeness, I just said, whatever, and hung up. But, the longer I thought about it, the madder I got. Can you believe her!?! Well, I wanted to ride w/Wayne anyway, but that's not the point. I certainly can't wait until I see her again, and should she DARE ask me to drive in another parade, she's gonna get her feelings hurt. Her husband is an old friend, but dang ~ he needs to control his woman!

After the parade festivities, the girls went to Vidalia for bowling & a movie w/friends, and we loaded the 4-wheelers up and rode some trails, etc. at the river w/the Howards, Dennis, Coolie & Big Al. It was wonderful, and I'm sooo glad it's getting warm enough to do these things again. We made it back to "the box" (Dennis' trailer) in time to all clean up, load up & hit Benton Lee's for supper. WOW! It was, again, wonderful!

Super tired this am, and dreading having to go fix some lunch... Hope all have a great Mother's Day!
