Weekend's over

We had a great weekend! Went down to Mema's coast house on Fri night, where Shellman was already popping! Sat am, by the time we got rolling and the Howard's arrived, the place was really jumping. We went down to the festival grounds where Megan had to have a funnel cake (which she shared, thank you) and Jessica had to have a giant monkey. Maybe 'cause she looks so much like 'em, but Lord, that child loves a monkey.

The parade was a hoot (see slide show below) and the entire thing gets bigger and bigger every year. Megan wasn't feeling so good, but she survived, thankfully and was feeling much better today.

Today was exhausting! When we got up and got Mema's coast house cleaned up and ready for the next crew, we beat it to Meridian to pick up Daddy and Michael and went into Darien to buy the mahogany for Wayne's little boat. We loaded it up, went back to Meridian, loaded it onto Daddy's boat, trekked it through the near hurricane weather to Sapelo, loaded it into the truck and took it to the long tabby shop. Then made the reverse trip before getting on the road back to G'ville. We got home about 7, I guess. But, the wind and all makes you so tired. I bet it was blowing 20 mph or better all day. Whew! But, Daddy's got the wood, and as soon as he gets back for his trip to Helen, he and Uncle Gary will get to work on the poor little boat. I'll do a slide show of some of the mock up pix later.

Oh, found out by the by ~ Syb had some minor out-patient surgery last week for this gigantic knot on the back of her head. Daddy had pix of her in her bandaged head working away at the Mansion. What dedication. She's to go back Wed for the results, but hopefully it's nothing.

We've got a busy week ahead. The girls will be taking the graduation test all week, then the Blessing of the Fleet trip next weekend. So, I'd better get resting... Later!
